December 19th 2024 - As the year draws to a close, we at Superion take the opportunity to come together and reflect on the journey that has shaped us over the past twelve months. The annual gathering of our teams from across Canada isn’t just about celebrating successes; it’s about learning from our challenges, recognizing the invaluable feedback from our clients, contributions from our vendors, and strengthening the bonds that make Superion feel like family.
This year, we’ve seen incredible growth—both in our client base and within our team—which has presented us with unique opportunities and challenges. As our headquarters in Surrey, BC, nears its capacity, and with our teams expanding in Alberta and Ontario, we decided to shake things up. Instead of a single location celebration, we embarked on a series of events to ensure everyone could join in the festivities. This approach allowed us to celebrate regionally while staying connected to our core values: teamwork, resilience, innovation, and a commitment to the principles outlined in Patrick Lencioni’s "The Five Dysfunctions of a Team" that essentially are the The Five Foundations of a Cohesive Team.
Our first stop was Alberta, where our Calgary team and colleagues from Edmonton united for an exciting multi-day journey. Starting in Red Deer and traveling through Calgary to Lethbridge, we met with both new and long-time clients. These visits allowed us to reinforce our partnerships and gain insights into how we can continue to support their businesses in the coming year.
Of course, it wasn’t all work. In Calgary, we gathered for an exceptional dinner at The Key, indulging in delicious food and meaningful conversations. Later, we unleashed our competitive sides with an action-packed evening at Zero Latency VR. These experiences strengthened our connections and reminded us of the importance of balancing hard work with fun.
From Alberta, we shifted gears and headed east to Toronto, where our local team welcomed us with open arms. Like in Alberta, we blended work and play, creating an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
Our trip included site visits and a scenic road trip to connect with both new and long-time clients, reinforcing relationships and building new opportunities. In Toronto, we indulged in a fantastic dinner at The Keg, where conversations flowed as freely as the laughter. Following this, we challenged our team to an adrenaline-filled night at Zero Latency VR. Naturally, our IT professionals excelled in this immersive experience—perhaps channeling their inner preparedness for a zombie apocalypse! The spirited competition and camaraderie brought us closer together while keeping our wits sharp.
These moments of fun were interspersed with productive discussions on our shared goals for the future. The Ontario team’s dedication and achievements were celebrated, and their contributions to Superion’s success were recognized with heartfelt appreciation.
After a brief pause, it was time for the BC team to shine. Gathering in Cloverdale, BC, we wrapped up the celebrations with a blend of work and fun. Highlights included a memorable dinner at The Keg in Morgan Creek, a spirited night of cosmic bowling at Sandcastle Lanes, and a nostalgic arcade experience at Capital City Arcades in New Westminster.
Throughout the week, we worked diligently in the office to align our goals for the upcoming year. Collaboration across departments and regions allowed us to tackle key initiatives and set the stage for continued growth and innovation in 2025.
No season of reflection, fun, and gratitude would be complete without a visit from Santa—at least, our version of him! Superion’s Owner brought the holiday cheer to life, showing he’s still not afraid to offer up a bit of humility by donning the classic red suit and beard. Laughter and smiles filled the room as "Santa" handed out presents to the team, taking a moment to express his heartfelt gratitude for their hard work and dedication throughout the year. It was a lighthearted and memorable way to wrap up our celebrations, reminding us all of the importance of generosity, humor, and appreciation in building a strong team.
As we reflect on these events, the overwhelming sentiment is one of gratitude. Gratitude for our incredible team, who embody the values of collaboration and resilience; for our clients, who trust us as their technology partner; and for our vendors, who help us deliver excellence.
This year’s celebrations were more than just gatherings—they were a testament to our commitment to fostering a positive work environment where hard work and fun go hand in hand. As we recover from a whirlwind of activity, we’re already looking forward to what next year’s version of these events will bring.
With our expanding teams, enhanced capabilities, and unwavering dedication to our clients’ success, 2025 is shaping up to be another remarkable chapter in Superion’s story. Here’s to building on our foundations and creating even more opportunities to celebrate together!
As the year comes to an end, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt appreciation and warmest wishes to everyone who has been part of our journey. To our clients, thank you for trusting us as your technology partner. To our vendors, your support and collaboration have been invaluable. And to our prospects, we look forward to the possibility of working together in the future.
From all of us at Superion, we wish you Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and, for the Seinfeld fans among us, a Happy Festivus for the Rest of Us! Here’s to a joyous holiday season and a prosperous 2025 ahead!
